Many "brit's" have bought second properties or holiday homes encouraged by "la vie francaise" but may not have considered the implications of Capital Gains Tax (plus value imposable) when these properties are sold in the future.

In fact both U K and French Capital Gains Tax may be charged and the calculated tax is deducted from the sales proceeds by the Notary before the funds are repatriated so it is important that all of the allowances and costs are considered in advance.
We offer a capital gains tax service where we liaise with your notary and provide a report detailing both the French and U K Capital gains tax
If you are U K resident then you will also be assessed for U K Capital Gains Tax and may have to pay the difference between the U K amount due and the French amount paid.
With a little foresight it is often possible to minimise your tax liability and we will be delighted to advise you on the amounts you can expect to pay
